A few days ago, I participated in a meditation and mindfulness retreat focused on ending one year and starting another. We spent lots of time meditating while walking and sitting, and a little bit of time talking and writing. It was wonderful, but I really struggled with answering one question. "What one word would you use to describe your intentions for 2015?"
I knew my word for 2014--struggle. Last year was hard!
My relationship with my boyfriend was hard, and ended mid-year. My job went from being the perfect position to rather nightmarish, and it, too, ended quite unexpectedly over the summer. I raised over $1,500 to go on a mission trip to Los Angeles, and got sick. I wasn't able to do much service, and had to come home halfway through the week. Then a full-blown lupus flare followed that left me unable to sit or stand or walk. I pretty much just laid on my back for two weeks. Last year was tough.
I have decided that 2015 will be my year to FLOURISH.
