When I moved to DC, it took a long time for me to make friends and find my church community. There were lots of days and weeks of loneliness before I really got to know people and began letting them into my world. Yesterday after church, I had lunch with a friend. A few hours later, we gathered at her place for a baby shower with about 20 other women from our congregation. I realized how far I had come, and how many amazing relationships I have built over the last few years. I am celebrating each of them this week, along with a few other things:
