The day I have dreaded for the last four months arrived this week. My godmother Annie passed early Tuesday morning after a 2-year battle with cancer. My heart has been heavy ever since... yet I have been able to see the streaks of silver all around me. Here are some of the things for which I am grateful:
I have always been a writer and have kept journals for years. Writing down my feelings helps me to process them. I am honored that so many people have read this blog, and offered me their words of encouragement. I do this more for me than anyone else, and call it a blessing to minister to others.
If you would like to make a gesture of support, consider a donation to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. They took care of Annie's treatment for the last year and were exemplary in every way. A big thanks to the MSKCC team!
